image001DC Water is continuously looking into improving process efficiencies of the Blue Plains plant. A key part of DC Water’s improvement plan is an extensive research and development program including several pilot plants. On the operations side, upgrades of the process control strategies are foreseen. Both the research program and the operations upgrades will have to rely on accurate and robust input signals from on-line sensors. inCTRL Solutions Inc. provided a two day workshop for the research group and wastewater treatment and process engineering including a sensor audit to identify problems and make suggestions for future maintenance procedures, training and a discussion on process control opportunities and challenges.
